The Devil's Lullaby - A Poem Exposing His Modern-Day Tactics

I believe the Lord laid this idea on my heart a few weeks ago to write a poem from the perspective of the devil to expose some of his most recent tactics. So with some help from AI here is what I wrote...
Devil’s Lullaby
I am the serpent’s whisper, the velvet glove on iron chains
The one who smiles in neon glow as heaven’s light wanes
Come, little lambs, I’ve spun a web so soft, so sweet, so fine
You’ll never feel the barbs until your soul is wholly mine
I dress my bait in cowboy boots and twang a steel guitar
A hymn slips in between the choruses of reckless hearts afar
One song about the cross, then three about the midnight sin
The tangled sheets, the burning highs, the laughter laced with gin
You call it “just a good time,” you sing it with a grin
I laugh inside the speakers: “Let the bondage now begin.”
I hide in sorority halls where laughter masks the rite
A little service project paints the darkness pure and bright
They chant the names of ancient gods—Athena, Dionysus’ flame
But I veil the meaning deep so none can speak the Ancient Name
“Community,” they murmur, while the wine and secrets reel
I keep the blindfold tight, and watch my demons squeal
I teach them how to read the Book and bend it like warm clay
“Oh, that verse was cultural— it doesn’t mean today.”
“Grace is cheap, the law is old, the context sets you free”
I drip sweet compromise like honey, so you never know it’s me
A little here, a little there, until the whole is leavened strong
And truth becomes a stranger in the choir’s happy song
“Love your brother,” I croon, “means never make him cry
Affirm his every craving or he just might want to die.”
Speak the truth? How cruel! How cold! That’s not the Jesus way
I’ve swapped the mirror for a hug that lets the cancer stay
They nod and call it kindness while the soul begins to rot
I tally every silenced warning— every truth forgot
I soothe each conviction so they never will repent
And recognize Jesus as the Messiah God has sent
I draw you close, my darlings, with every sweet deceit
To share the dark forever—my mission now complete
I whisper, “This is freedom,” while I lead you hand in hand
Down corridors of shadow to the place I cannot stand
And oh, the crown of my deceit— the garden story’s lie
Six days? Absurd! A billion years beneath an endless sky
He didn’t speak and make it so— He used the slow, blind crawl
A monkey, slime, and random chance to birth them one and all
No instant power, no “Let there be,” just time and luck and dust—
I shrink the Maker to a myth and watch their worship rust
So dance, my darlings, to the fiddle while the cross grows dim and small
Serve the sisterhood, affirm the sin, rewrite the ancient call
Believe the eons, praise the process, never ask “What cost?”
I’ll keep you gently, sweetly bound— the road to heaven lost
Focus on the here and now, never the judgement to come
Turn up the noise, run down the clock, are you feeling numb?
Distract my pretties from dawn to dusk, no time to stop and think
Your feeble lives will soon be gone, dissolved in one swift blink
Mislead through masqueraded light is my greatest skill
I never force the chains; it’s by your own free will
Entice to sin, tighten my grip, His name you will forsake
My lullaby sweet, you don’t know you’re asleep, never to awake
"Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour." - 1 Peter 5:8 (NLT)
The devil loves to lull us to sleep, don't be his next victim. How do we stay awake? By being in God's Word and prayer daily and having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
"So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you." - James 4:7-8 (NLT)

"And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart." - Jeremiah 29:13 (NASB)
