”In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” – Matthew 5:16 (NLT).
God calls us to live out our faith in every area of our lives. That includes as citizens. We should live as and train our children to become biblical citizens. What does it look like to be a biblical citizen?

Biblical Citizens…
Study God’s Word and Treasure it in Their Hearts!
Obey God
Love Their Country and Respect the Flag
Take Action
Vote in Every Election
Door Knock and Hand Out Literature
Write to Their Representatives and Hold Them Accountable
Pray for Their Leaders
Care for the Poor and Hurting
Care for God’s Creation
Are Responsible
Obey the Law (as long as it doesn’t ask them to sin)
Serve Others
Pay Taxes
Value and Celebrate Their Freedoms
Educate Themselves and Others
Know Their Rights and Defend Them
Honor God in Word and Deed
Read and Understand the U.S. Constitution
Are Salt and Light in the World
I have the privilege of coordinating a ministry at my church called Salt & Light Ministry. It is where we encourage our church to pray for God to work in our community, we educate our church on how to become biblical citizens, and we encourage our church to act upon what they’ve learned and live as salt and light in their community. We are affiliated with the Salt and Light Council who provide us with materials such as monthly newsletters and prayer requests. One of the first classes we taught at our church as part of this ministry was the Biblical Citizenship in Modern America class by Patriot Academy.

This 8-week course teaches about the Constitution and the biblical principles our nation was founded upon. It encourages Christians to speak up for biblical values in their communities and beyond. It does a fabulous job of teaching about the true history of our country and how we can be salt and light in a dark world.
When we taught this class at our church, I wanted the children (including my own) to be able to learn from these videos and participate in the discussion, so I made some fun activity pages for them. They can be used as stand-alone activities or paired with the Biblical Citizenship class from Patriot Academy. See link at the end of this blog post to download these activity pages for free!
Note: I also made some fill-in-the-blank pages to go along with the videos for children ages 10+. If you plan to do this video series at your church and would like to use these pages feel free to message me and I will send them to you.
